( 123over )Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou said at his pre-match press conference ahead of their trip to Southampton on April 6 that defender Mickey van de Ven only suffered cramp in midweek and is therefore available for selection. 123over

Van de Ven started in Spurs’ 0-1 loss to Chelsea yesterday but was substituted in the 88th minute for Pedro Porro amid concerns the Dutchman had a recurrence of his injury. 

But the 59-year-old coach reported that Mickey only had cramps and could return to action overnight.

“Mickey van de Ven is fine, he had cramp against Chelsea,” the Aussie boss said. 

“On the positive side, apart from the cramp, he feels good. It was just a tough game for a defensive player.” 

As for the possible rotation of the squad because next Thursday there is an important Europa League quarterfinal against Eintracht Frankfurt, Postecoglou would like to look at it match-by-match. 

“We don’t look beyond the game in front of us,” Ange added. 

“If the players are in good physical condition, we don’t need to rotate.” 

“We need to add momentum, maybe two or three positions, but probably not more than that.”
