123over Atletico Madrid sporting director Carlos Busero has denied reports that Liverpool have made a bid for Argentina striker Julian Alvarez this summer, while the player’s agent has admitted that the Reds were interested in the player but it was the summer before he left Manchester City. 123over
Previously, there were reports that Liverpool were ready to splash the cash to acquire 25-year-old Alvarez to replace Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, who is likely to leave the Reds after the end of this season as he has not yet signed a new contract. ( 123over )
Meanwhile, Alvarez’s agent Fernando Hidalgo recently revealed that Liverpool had been keen on the Argentine since last summer before he decided to move from Man City to Atletico Madrid for £80 million (approximately 3,440 million baht).
However, Bucero said: “The rumor that Liverpool have made an official offer to sign our player Julian Alvarez is not true. It’s just a rumor.”
“Alvarez is an important player in our project and we have no intention of letting him go, while the player himself is not interested in these rumors,” the Atletico sporting director concluded.
