The 28-year-old Liverpool forward was killed in a car accident on July 3, along with his younger brother, Andre Silva. Jota’s death came just two weeks after he married his wife of several years, Rute Cardozo, with whom he had three children. kindee1688

The latest report from Portuguese media outlet Record has revealed that Liverpool have decided to pay Diogo Jota’s remaining two years of salary until 2027 to his family.  

According to Capology.com, a website that focuses on financial aspects of football, Jota is earning £7.28 million per year at Anfield, meaning that the family of the former Portuguese national team striker will receive a total of £14.5 million, or around 641 million baht, from the remaining two years of his contract.

On the same day that Diogo Jota died, Liverpool also announced the retirement of the No. 20 shirt in Jota’s honor. ( kindee1688 )
