Real Madrid were recently hammered 2-0 by Liverpool in the latest UEFA Champions League match, leaving them with only 6 points from the first 5 matches of this season. 

The defending champions are only 24th in the standings and will have to fight hard to break into the top eight, which will automatically qualify them, but if they finish 9th to 24th, they will have to play off before entering the knockout stage.

Ancelotti said after the game: “It’s a fair result. It was a difficult game for us. We knew they were in good form and I thought we fought well.”
