Araujo is ambitious to be a good captain at Barca vox888

vox888 Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has admitted that he is hurt after missing a long spell on the pitch for his club, but he is determined to make a full recovery as soon as possible so he can be a proper captain for the club. vox888

The 25-year-old defender suffered an injury while playing for Uruguay at the 2024 Copa America and will need to undergo hamstring surgery and be sidelined for around four months.  ( vox888 )

The injury has raised concerns about the future of the Latino, who is not expected to recover until early 2025 and has 18 months left on his contract. 

But recently, he confirmed his loyalty to the club, wants to come back to help the team and wear the armband. 

“Being the captain of Barca is a great pride for me,” he told ‘Barca One’.

“I feel very honored to do it. I know the responsibility that comes with it, but I believe I am well prepared.” 

“As for the injury, when I come back, I will fight like a bull. It is a dream to play for Barcelona. I can hardly wait.” 

“I’ve been here for 5 years now, and I hope to stay here for many more years.” 

The first thing Araujo needs to do is get back to full fitness, which is expected to be after the international break in November at the earliest .
