    The Gunners started strongly at the London Stadium with four goals in total from Gabriel in the 10th minute, Leandro Trossard in the 27th minute, Martin Odegaard in the 34th minute (penalty) and Kai Havertz in the 36th minute before the home team got back in front with two goals from Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the 38th minute and Emerson in the 40th minute, but in first-half stoppage time, Bukayo Saka converted another penalty.

    However, towards the end of the first half, Gabriel was injured after being punched in the head by Lukasz Fabianski and fell to the ground. He appeared dazed when he got back up and was replaced by Jakub Kiwior.

    After the game, Arteta spoke about Gabriel’s substitution, but said it was not due to an injury in the game, but rather an injury he had sustained since the European win over Sporting Lisbon.

    “No, it was a previous injury in Lisbon,” Arteta said. “He obviously did a great job of being part of the result we got, but there was a concern and we decided to take him off.”
