Frank Gore, the 36-year-old running back who signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Buffalo Bills, has a major motivation heading into the 2019 season: moving into the top three all-time running backs in yards and carries, NBC Sports reported Saturday. baconclub66 

Gore is entering his 15th career with 3,382 carries, just 136 behind third-place Curtis Martin. The former New England Patriots and New York Jets running back has a combined 3,518 carries. The top spot is held by Emmitt Smith, who has a combined 4,409 carries for the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals, and Walter Payton, who has a combined 3,838 carries for the Chicago Bears. 

The 36-year-old running back also rushed for 14,748 yards, just 521 yards behind third-place all-time running back Barry Sanders, who has 15,269 yards. Emmitt Smith is No. 1 all-time with 18,355 yards and Walter Payton is No. 2 all-time with 16,726 yards. 

So Gore has a chance to move up to No. 3 in both carries and yards, but it will depend on the number of games played, as the Bills have several running backs in LeShaun McCoy, T.J. Yeldon and rookie DeVin Singletary. But with the numbers not too far behind, the 36-year-old has a chance to move into the top three all-time in either or both categories.  ( baconclub66 )
