baconclub66 Former Denver Broncos defensive lineman Chanel Jenkins signed with the New York Jets on Saturday.

The New York Jets have signed defensive lineman Chanelle Jenkins to a two-year contract and are releasing Courtney Upshaw at the same time, ESPN reported Saturday.  baconclub66

Jenkins, 24, spent last season with the Green Bay Packers after having played for three franchises in 2016: the Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks. 

The 6’4″, 275-pound product of Shepherd University appeared in 47 games (28 starts), recorded 100 tackles and 27 sacks, and was the 2015 Defensive Player of the Year with 41 tackles and 13.5 sacks in 14 games, but was undrafted by the Broncos in 2016. 

While Upshaw, a 28-year defensive end, is a seven-year veteran, a former 2012 second-round draft pick by the Baltimore Ravens, he signed with the Jets for a tryout during minicamp but was released after a poor showing. ( baconclub66 )
