foryou1688 Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has hinted the club must prepare for players nearing the end of their contracts, including reports linking him with a move for Martin Zubimendi.

The move to sign Zubimendi comes as midfielders Jorginho and Thomas Partey, both out of contract this summer and expected to leave the club, have been pressing for replacements.

“We have a situation with players who are out of contract,” Arteta said when asked about Martin Zubimendi.

“We can renew those contracts like we have done in the past. We are always looking to develop the team and understand what the players need when they are on contract with us and we need to be ready.”

Arteta also spoke about his options for January transfers, with injuries to attackers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.

“At this point in time, we don’t have that. We’re trying to find the most viable solution, but we’ll have to see what we can do.
