    The 26-year-old goalkeeper has been linked with a move away from the club in recent times due to his status as Alisson Becker’s understudy. Although he has been playing regularly due to the Brazilian’s injury problems, it is believed that he will eventually return to being the number one.

    While the Blues have Robert Sanchez as their number one, pundits have suggested he is not up to par, with Bent backing Kelleher to move to Stamford Bridge, believing it would work out well for both the player and the club.

    “I’ve always looked up to (Emiliano) Martinez,” Bent told talkSPORT of the Aston Villa goalkeeper’s decision to leave Arsenal. “He’s been at Arsenal for about 10 years and finally had the chance to move, done incredibly well, won the FA Cup, it’s brilliant.”

    “(Bernd) Leno came back (from injury), they sold him, Martinez left and the rest is history, winning the World Cup and staying at a great club like Aston Villa.”

    “I think Kelleher is a very good goalkeeper. He’s 26, it’s time, go for it, you know what I mean? I think he’ll have a chance there (Chelsea).”
