Quarterback Joe Flacco, 40, has revealed he has no expectations about who will be the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback after returning to sign a one-year, $4 million deal to compete with Kenny Pickett, ESPN Cleveland reports. berlin1688

“I don’t think there’s any expectation of who the real quarterback is,” Flacco said. “So, you know, I’m excited to get in that room and show that I’ve got a lot of football ahead of me and be a part of this team and do my best to prove those things, like you always do when you come into a new situation and want to be that guy.”

One big question ahead of next week’s draft is whether the Browns will take a young quarterback, and whether that player will come in the first or second rounds. Flacco is open to a mentoring role and believes it will be a good fit for the organization.

Flacco, 40, is entering his 18th season after entering the league as a first-round draft pick in the 2008 draft class by the Baltimore Ravens. He has joked that he wants to continue playing football because he doesn’t want to be at home.

‘I love football,’ Flacco said. ‘I still feel like I can do it at a high level. I’ve never had any regrets in my life. It’s one of those things, like, if I still feel like I can do it and other people still feel like I can do it enough to [give me a chance], then maybe this is something I’ll regret not doing.
