“A lot of people ask me what the Ravens are missing. I tell them nothing,” Hamilton said. “We have everything you need to win a championship. We just don’t play well when we have to win. There’s no excuse for that. We just have to play offense, defense and special teams.”
The Ravens wrapped up their fourth consecutive regular season win after a Week 14 bye, outscoring their opponents 135-43, then crushed the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 in the wild-card round before falling to the Buffalo Bills 25-27 in the divisional playoffs.
‘In the regular season every year that I’ve been here, it seems like we’ve got it right and we’ve had six weeks where we’ve won all our games and I think sometimes we’ve struggled to play from the back because we haven’t done that very often.’
“So in the playoffs, playing away from home, it’s a hostile environment, playing from the back is not normal, so we have to try to do more. Of course we don’t plan to play from the back in the future, but if it happens, we have to react properly and take action,” Hamilton said.
The 23-year-old safety admitted the Ravens’ defense got off to a slow start, allowing the Bills to score three touchdowns on their first four possessions while also forcing two turnovers.
“Especially against the Bills, we had two turnovers, our defense didn’t start off well,” Hamilton said. “The offense came out and scored on the first drive, and we gave up a touchdown. We don’t want our offense to give up points, we want our defense to stop the game and give us the win. Obviously, it’s going to be a tough offseason to live with, but we’ve got another year and hopefully we can fix that.” ( berlin1688 )
