The Kansas City Chiefs have confirmed the devastating news that Rashi Rice will undergo surgery to repair his right anterior cruciate ligament and is likely to miss the rest of the season, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports. berlin1688

Rice reportedly needs surgery on his anterior cruciate ligament (LCL) and is set to undergo surgery on Tuesday. If the surgery is successful, he will be out for around three months and will not be fully fit until 2025.

Rice suffered the injury in Week 4’s win over the LA Chargers when Patrick Mahomes inadvertently lunged at the 24-year-old wide receiver’s leg as the Chiefs quarterback attempted to make a tackle following an interception. 

According to Ian Rapoport, the Chiefs are concerned that there is more internal damage to Rice’s knee than previously thought, with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament likely to rule the 24-year-old out for the rest of the season. ( berlin1688 )
