Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Travis Kelce has revealed he will take some time to think about whether to call it quits this offseason, NFL Network reports.  betflikth99

“It just wasn’t our day. Not getting any momentum,” Kelce said on the ‘New Heights’ podcast with his brother, former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. “I feel bad about the little decisions that I made on the field, trying to do more than what’s asked of me on the field. I’m not the best leader to inspire players and keep them calm and collected. I take that on myself as a guy who’s been on the field for 12 years, watched a lot of football, and saw this situation in the Super Bowl, talking about Tampa Bay, Super Bowl.”

‘It’s a bitter pill to swallow. Every time we feel like we made a big play or got something done, there’s a penalty or we take a step back. And we can’t follow the playbook. It’s not a play call, it’s a collective effort of everyone who can’t find a way to make it work. It’s frustrating to be on the biggest stage, but to be on the biggest stage for the second time in my career is hard to swallow.’

Kelsey also opened up about how he’s starting to understand the enormity of this moment in his career, saying, “It’s a hard truth to take. I love my teammates, I love my coaches, Chiefs Kingdom. I’m sorry it’s over. My life is beautiful. I have people that I love. I have the most amazing family in the world that supports me in everything that I do. And they’re all there cheering me on and hoping everything works out on Sunday.”

‘I have to give a big round of applause to the Eagles. They did a great job. We felt like we had no control over what was going to happen in that game.’

The 35-year-old winger also revealed he plans to take some time before deciding whether he will return for a 13th NFL season. ‘I know everybody wants to know if I’m going to play next year. I’m giving it my all right now.’

‘I’m trying my best to move forward. I’m not making any crazy decisions. But right now, the most important thing is to be there for my teammates and my coaches, understanding that there’s a lot to do.’

‘I’ve been fortunate in the last five or six years that I’ve played more football than anybody else. That’s because of the people in that building and the fact that we’re still going to these AFC Championship games and these Super Bowls. That means I’ve played three more games than anybody else in the league.’

‘That’s a lot of wear and tear on your body. It takes a lot of time to build, to focus on your task at hand, on all the challenges you set for yourself. The process can be brutal. It can push you. It can make you better. It can make you crazy all at the same time.’

‘Now, that’s one of the things that’s been crazy to me this year. I think it happens when you start to slow down in the last nine games of your career. When you see yourself or you don’t feel like you’ve had the same success that you’ve had before, it’s hard to take. Also, not being there in the biggest moments, knowing that your team is relying on you, those are all really tough things. It’s a harsh reality.’  ( betflikth99 )
