The Patriots announced on their official website Wednesday (local time) that Matthews was released without giving a reason. betflikth99

But then NFL Network revealed that it was due to an injury during training camp, and he was placed on injured reserve. Both the club and the player are considering whether he is in the team’s plans after his treatment.

The ‘National Warriors’ signed Matthews to a one-year, $1 million contract in April. The injury reportedly involved a hamstring injury. 

Last season, Matthews played with the Buffalo Bills, catching 25 passes, 282 yards, and getting 1 score. His peak performance was playing with the Philadelphia Eagles for 3 seasons from 2014-16.   ( betflikth99 )
