According to a report from Pro Football Talk on Sunday, the Jets could be hitting the market to replace Bowles, with University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh set to be eyed, despite the former San Francisco 49ers head coach previously confirming he will remain in the position.
Before Johnson took to Twitter early Monday morning to quell rumors of a new head coach being named to replace Bowles, according to media reports.
‘Todd Bowles is our head coach,’ Johnson tweeted. ‘There is no truth to the reports that we are interested in. Jim Harbaugh.’
Bowles took over as head coach of the Jets in 2015 and went 10-6 in his first season, but regressed to 5-11 in 2016 and 2017 before falling to 4-11 heading into Sunday’s season-ending game. ( bgames666 )
