The Sun Football reports that City have agreed a one-year extension with the 52-year-old on a deal + a one-year team option, pending an official announcement, meaning the Spanish forward will be working with the club for a decade. 

The next step is to ensure the Norwegian is not moving, despite having two and a half years remaining on his current deal worth £20m-a-season. 

It is believed that representatives will be called in to discuss extending the contract to a five-year contract from 2025-26, with the same guaranteed wage rate excluding bonuses. That means the 24-year-old is set to pocket a fortune of around £100m.  ( vox888 )
