Booker admits he was destined to be with the Suns, not the Heat vox888

vox888 Devin Booker, the Phoenix Suns guard who is currently competing in the Paris Olympics with the US national team, opened up about the events before the draft ceremony 9 years ago, saying that he imagined he might end up with the Miami Heat because he had good results in personal training, but nature had arranged that he would end up in the desert. vox888

Back in the 2015 draft class, there were rumors that the Heat, who had the 10th pick, wanted to bring Booker to the team, to the point of calling him in for a special training session to showcase his skills, which turned out well.  ( vox888 )

But in the end, Miami executives chose Justin Winslow instead, dropping the University of Kentucky product into Phoenix’s lap. 

“At first, I thought I would end up in Miami because my performance there was the best,” said LA Lakers guard D’Angelo Russell about joining the YouTube channel. 

“I remember Heat president Pat Riley doing an interview saying something like, ‘We’re looking for a Klay Thompson-type player. We need to upgrade our shooters.’

“At that time, my average three-point percentage was around 40% at the college level. I thought to myself, at that level, there’s a spotlight on me… Entering the draft, it’s life-changing like that. It’s crazy. You really can’t control anything.” 

The 27-year-old is contracted to Footprint Center until the end of the 2027-28 season, waiting to unlock his first championship.
