Patrick Mahomes was named Super Bowl 57 MVP after leading the Kansas City  Chiefs to a 38-35 late win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, ESPN reported.

Mahomes was the MVP of Super Bowl 54 before the 27-year-old repeated the feat by leading the Chiefs to Super Bowl 57 on Sunday, becoming the 13th quarterback to win the championship more than once, having previously lost 9-31 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55.

‘The failures, they make you feel more grateful and thankful to be here as a champion,’ Mahomes said.

Mahomes completed 21 of 27 passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 44 yards, playing with a sprained upper right ankle he suffered in the divisional playoff win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and re-aggravated in the first half against the Eagles. He not only stayed in the game, but scrambled for 14 yards during the Chiefs’ touchdown drive early in the second half and ran for 26 yards on the game-winning field goal late in the game.

“It felt good until I got a little sore,” Mahomes said. “I thought I felt great and then it happened and I got really sore at halftime and was able to move around, get a little taped up and go out there in the second half.”

‘It doesn’t feel good, but I’ll just leave it at that.’

Mahomes’ determination also earned him praise from his teammates. “I didn’t get disheartened or down,” Chiefs left tackle Orlando Brown said. “It didn’t affect his energy or anything like that. We just knew he was limping a little bit and had a little bigger chip on his shoulder.”

‘I don’t know how bad it is, but you can’t count (Mahomes) out. He’s one of the greatest,’

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said of Mahomes: ‘He grew up in a locker. He was considered the greatest. He aspired to be the greatest without saying anything. That’s how he works.’

‘He wants to be the greatest player ever. That’s how he does his business. And he does it with humility. No bragging rights. He could stand up here and tell you these stats, but he won’t. That’s not him.’

‘We appreciate that, and when the guys around him elevate their game, he helps them do that. Great quarterbacks, they make everyone around them better, including the head coach.
