New York Giants pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux believes his limitations are much higher despite a poor 2024 season, the New York Post has revealed. ( bully168 )
Thibodaux had a breakout season in his sophomore season with 11.5 sacks, but he missed five games with a wrist injury and finished the 2024 season with fewer than six sacks and a disappointing 3-14 season that the 24-year-old pass rusher hopes will push the Blues back on track in 2025.
“The best thing I can do for myself is to keep climbing that mountain,” Thibodeau told Paul Schwartz of the New York Post. “Not disappointed, not sad or anything like that. Just feeling empowered and hungry for the opportunities that I’ve been given, and hopefully I’ll have enough clarity and understanding to take full advantage of them.”
The former first-round pick in the 2022 draft class is eligible to pick up a fifth-year rookie option worth around $16.5 million, and the Giants have until May 1 to exercise it.
The Giants could choose to extend his contract or decline to exercise the option. Whatever happens, Thidos is happy to continue to support the Blues.
“Excited, love the Giants,” Thibodeau said. “Obviously I hope I can stay here. The future is in their hands, for sure. But I’m excited. I thought I had a good performance. I won’t say it was my best performance. I won’t say it was my worst performance, but I know the limit is much higher. Very excited for this year, no matter what happens, I’m going to try my best and attack the Gold Jackets and the Super Bowl.”
