     Liverpool’s Gomez and Aston Villa’s Konsa both trained at Charlton’s academy. And both were named in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad.

     “But it would be great to have both of them able to play together,” Avery said of Gomez and Konsa with England.

     “You really have to pinch yourself. (Did you dream it?) The two children passed through various stages. To the highest level possible.”

     “It is also a tribute to the many people who worked with those two players when they were at the Charlton Academy.”
