The Kansas City Chiefs are allowing Lorius Snead if the team trades him this offseason, with NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport stating that the Chiefs could turn off the franchise tag. A with the 27-year-old cornerback ahead of the deadline on Tuesday, March 5, and executed a player trade after that. ( onelove168  )

The Chiefs can retain the $19.8 million franchise tag at the March 5 deadline, giving the Chiefs until mid-July to work out a long-term deal. Or make good on the 27-year-old cornerback’s promise by trading him. 

Snead, a former 2020 fourth-round draft pick, has developed into one of the Chiefs’ best defensive players over the course of his four-year rookie contract, racking up 10 interceptions, deflecting passes. 40 times, causing 4 fumbles and 6.5 sacks 

The Chiefs will have two key defensive players, Chris Jones and Snead, on the free agent market this month, but Chiefs general manager Brett Viech wants to get Defensee. The 29-year-old tackle’s re-signing is a top priority.
