Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta has confirmed he has no plans to trade Mark Andrews this offseason, despite the 29-year-old coming under fire for his crucial fumble late in last season’s playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills, NFL Network reports. cosmo365
Andrews is due to make $11 million in 2025, while 24-year-old wide receiver Isaiah Likely has also been in the running. That raises questions about the future of Andrews, who made a costly mistake last season, but DeCosta has insisted the 29-year-old will remain in Baltimore.
“I never know what’s going to happen, and I hate to say it, but I can tell you that Mark Andrews is a warrior and he’s given everything for us. His competitiveness, his attitude and his leadership are invaluable here,” DeCosta said. “He’s a great player and we’re in the business of keeping as many great players as we can.”
‘So there’s a lot of uncertainty in the draft. You never know. I don’t think we traded many of our players. Did we ever trade any of our players during the draft?’
The Ravens paid Andrews a $4 million roster bonus in March and, given head coach John Harbaugh’s comments earlier, the 29-year-old is expected to remain with the team through the 2025 season.
“Obviously with every player, there’s always that. Maybe every player. Just the coaches (and) the players. It’s the NFL. That’s part of the deal with things going on. So I can’t tell anybody. But Mark is one of the few guys I expect to be here. So we’ll see what happens. My plan is we’ll have Mark, Isaiah (Likely), Charlie (Kolar) and Pat Rickard ready to do all those things,” Harbaugh said. ( cosmo365 )
