    11-4 Rams, who will play the third or fourth seed in the playoffs before playing the 49ers on New Year’s Eve, didn’t see the need to field their top players as Kyle Shenehan’s team looks to end the season on a five-game winning streak.

    “Holding on to the third or fourth seed every game is important, but I think it’s an opportunity to rest some guys to give other guys a chance to step up,” McVay said.

    “It’s one of those deals where I think you’ll see us rest some guys and use it this week. We still have to play a home playoff game. This is a good opportunity to give some players a rest,’
