The Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with 28-year-old cornerback D.J. Reid on a three-year, $48 million deal with $32 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. cup1688
The former fifth-round pick in the 2018 draft class played for the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets before agreeing to a three-year, $48 million deal with $32 million guaranteed to replace Carlton Davis, who signed a three-year, $60 million deal with the New England Patriots.
Reed is one of only two cornerbacks to have more than 350 tackles and 40 pass defenses since 2020, with 360 tackles and 49 pass defenses. Indianapolis Colts’ Kenny Mohr has 418 tackles and 43 pass defenses.
The 28-year-old veteran cornerback would be a great addition to the Lions’ defensive back line, along with Terrien Arnold, Ennis Wreckstraw and Amick Robertson, and would also pave the way for Brian Branch to return to safety. ( cup1688 )
