Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray believes his relationship with first-round wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will improve beyond the 2024 season, according to Arizona Sports Cardinals Corner.  cup1688

“For him to have eight touchdowns and feel like he didn’t touch the ground, that says something,” Murray said. “Obviously, me and him have to get better, and we’ll get better, but I like where he’s at mentally at the end of the season. He’s more open, more comfortable with the players in the locker room, more comfortable with me, more comfortable just speaking his mind in the wide receivers room (Israel Wolfork and Drew Terrell).

The former No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 draft had a rocky start to his rookie season before Harrison exploded against the LA Rams with four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. But throughout the season, Murray admitted that his relationship with the rookie wide receiver wasn’t where it should be. 

Harrison was targeted 116 times, caught 62 times, caught 885 yards and scored 8 touchdowns in his rookie season. Now into his second year with Murray, the Cardinals quarterback believes their relationship will improve.

‘I understand him in the sense that he’s a big name and he wants to come in and prove himself. People say he’s not very talkative. They’ll say I wasn’t very talkative in the first year as well. Because all I wanted to do was come in and show them that I was worthy enough for them to pick me and who I am.’

‘So I understand that part of his personality, but as he becomes more comfortable, he will continue to grow. I really believe that.’ ( cup1688 )
