Bayern Munich and France defender Dayot Upamecano has revealed he is happy with the current situation at the Bavarians under Vincent Kompany, who is impressing at the club, Bild reported on Monday. 

Bayern Munich ended last season empty-handed, resulting in the sacking of Thomas Tuchel before the club appointed Kompany as their new manager, who made an excellent start to life, leading the Bavarians to 15 wins from 21 games in all competitions and currently top of the Bundesliga, with the only blemish being a 1-0 defeat to Leverkusen in the round of 16 of the DFB-Pokal.

‘Last season was a very bad year for us, it was not good for me, but the most important thing is that now we are where we are and we have a very good coach,’ Upamecano said, in what could be interpreted as a dig at former boss Tuchel.

‘I’ve spoken a lot with Kompany, he’s helping me and I’m very happy with him. We’ve done a lot of video analysis, also with the assistant coach. He’s helped me a lot and I think he’s helped the team.’
