De Ligt has reportedly informed his agent of contract talks with Manchester United and will not hold further talks with Paris Saint-Germain, another club with an interest.

Manchester United are currently in talks with Bayern Munich over a fee and the structure of the deal.

Sky Germany report that Bayern Munich have set a price tag of at least €50 million for De Ligt, excluding add-ons, which seems like a reasonable figure for Manchester United to invest in compared to Everton centre-back Jarrad Brunthwaite in terms of skill, performance and experience.

De Ligt and head coach Erik ten Hag are keen to work together again in the 2024-25 season, having previously enjoyed success together at Ajax Amsterdam.
