The Italian has taken on a key role at Marseille after parting ways with Brighton, with OM’s transfer team having tried to strengthen their squad in order to give De Zerbi a fighting squad. ( vox888 ) 

L’Equipe recently reported that De Zerbi has considered the departures of his players, having informed Veretout (31), Mbemba (29) and Chicot (30) that they can now look for new teams.

All three were key players for the club last season but, with structural changes and a new manager, are now unsecured regular places. De Zerbi has also signalled that he is free to find a new club.

Another factor is that Marseille are looking to raise funds to bring in new players, with De Zerbi believing that selling the three experienced players would give the club the money it needs.

Previously, Marseille added two big players, Mason Greenwood and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, to the team, while now there is news linking with strikers Eddie Nketiah and Hwang Hee-chan.
