Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has revealed after Tuesday’s 4-0 friendly win over Grasshoppers that Leon Goretzka will be fully involved in the team if the player chooses to stay at the club, according to Bild.  ( sakidbet )

Goretzka was deployed at centre-back alongside Eric Dier in the game against Grasshoppers after being informed by the club that he was no longer wanted. 

But things could change following Josip Stanisic’s injury, with Eberl confirming the 29-year-old will be fully involved and will not be sent into the stands to watch games if he chooses to stay with the Bavarian outfit.

‘At Bayern Munich there is no reserve training group. Leon is a great player and played well today. If he stays, he will be a full member of our team,’ Eberl confirmed.

The Bavarians sporting director also explained that the club never wanted to make Goretzka’s situation difficult, saying: ‘We never said anything bad about Leon. He did great things for Bayern. Competitive situations are normal in football. Leon is a full member of the team. We only hinted that it might be difficult. ‘
