The 38-year-old signed a 12-month contract extension with the Foxes after they were promoted back to the Premier League this season, but he failed to save them from relegation back to the Championship. foryou1688

Vardy is regarded as one of the greatest players in Leicester’s history, having been with the club since 2012, leading them to promotion to the top flight and creating a fairytale Premier League title in 2015/16 and the FA Cup in 2020/21.

“I’ve been at this club for so long that I really don’t think it’s going to end,” Vardy said.

“This is not only a difficult time for me to write this, but also a difficult decision. Leicester City is my second home, my family, my life for 13 years. This club, this city, the people, everything means a lot to me and my family.”

Vardy also confirmed that he has no plans to retire anytime soon and is committed to continuing playing football.

“I want to keep playing and doing what I enjoy most, which is scoring goals. Hopefully I can score one or two more goals for Leicester before the end of the season and more in the future. I may be 38 now but I still have the hunger and ambition to achieve more.” ( foryou1688 )
