Eto’o’s son makes Rayo debut with a goal pgzen

Etienne Eto’o made his senior debut for Rayo Vallecano in Wednesday’s 5-0 Copa del Rey win over Villamuriel.  

The 22-year-old, who plays as a striker like his father, came on as a substitute in the 75th minute and scored in the 88th minute after being intercepted by an opposing defender, and he fired a right-footed shot into the far post from inside the penalty area.

For Etienne, Eto’o was part of the Mallorca youth system like his father before moving on to several other teams and finally joining Rayo Vallecano this past summer where he finally made his senior debut.

Eto’o, the younger brother, previously played for Cameroon’s under-20 team in 2021, making two appearances and scoring two goals, but has not played for the national team since. ( pgzen )
