Ferdinand says United made too soon decision to sell Lukaku superteeded

    The Red Devils splashed out £75m to sign the Belgium international from Everton in 2017 during Jose Mourinho’s tenure, scoring 27 goals in his first year but his role was reduced in his second year before he was sold to Inter Milan, where he enjoyed great success.

    The Red Devils currently have a clear problem at centre-forward and Ferdinand believes selling Lukaku to Inter Milan was too rash.

    “I have to give credit to one man called Romelu Lukaku,” Rio said on his YouTube channel. “He’s another player who left Manchester United (and succeeded), he came back and won Serie A again and scored on the night they won it.”

    “I look at Lukaku and the problem, especially in England, is that everyone thinks he can’t do something or isn’t good at something just because he’s big and fast. People expect him to play a certain way. His game is what he does to the opposition.”
