Schlott is the first Dutch manager to win the league title and the fifth manager in history to win the title in his first season since taking charge in the summer of 2024.

After leading his team to the championship, Schlot thanked Klopp and his team for giving him a great team to start the season with.

“It was really great. I don’t think I have much to say. The only thing I want to say is thank you to Jurgen Klopp.

“What Jurgen (Klopp) and Pep (Lijnders) have built, the culture, the hard work, the quality is outstanding. We started (the season) really well and maybe it also helped that (Manchester) City had a difficult time, something they haven’t had in five years.”
