Cooper, who was appointed to replace Enzo Maresca as manager in June, said Daka would be out for some time.

The Leicester manager also said Jamie Vardy and Conor Coady will miss Monday’s season-opening clash with Spurs.

“Patson wasn’t very good,” Cooper said.

“He’s had surgery and will be out for a month. Wards (Vardy) has been injured since the second week of pre-season. He’s close to coming back but he’s going to be out for a while.”

“Conor Cody is out for another two to three weeks with a hamstring problem,”
