A video clip showing a resemblance to Premier League referee David Coote has been circulating on social media, sparking allegations of disrespect towards Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp, among other things. 

Although the Premier League has confirmed that the person in the clip is indeed Coot and is holding a meeting to decide on a punishment, it seems that the referee’s future is at risk and he could end up in jail as well.

The Sun published a video showing the referee inhaling a white powder through his nose, with some suggesting it could be a drug.

Making matters worse, The Sun reports that the video was taken on July 6, after Spain’s Euro 2020 quarter-final clash with Germany, where Coote was acting as a VAR assistant.

The English media believes that the location in the video is likely to have taken place in a hotel for referees provided by UEFA. Before that, on July 1, Coote sent a picture to a close friend, which showed a white powder divided into piles using a credit card. ( thaisiambet )
