Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney called Super Bowl 57 against the Philadelphia Eagles the greatest game of his life, before playing a part in winning his first career championship, NFL Network reported Monday. ( gameintr88 )
The Chiefs traded a third-round and sixth-round pick in 2023 to sign former 2014 first-round draft pick Toney from the New York Giants in late October. He had three touches in Super Bowl 57, involved in eight snaps and made a 65-yard punt return in the final quarter to break Jordan Norwood’s 61-yard punt return in Super Bowl 50.
‘It was the greatest game of my life,’ Toney said. ‘It really was.’
But Toney’s biggest impact came on the Eagles’ second punt of the game, when the 24-year-old wide receiver took the ball and made a short spin around Arrin Siposs at the Chiefs’ 30-yard line with no opponent within 10 yards before he made a Zach Pascal tackle and raced 65 yards to the Philadelphia 5-yard line.
‘I saw an opportunity,’ Toney said. ‘In that situation, I made the right return and made the right decision.’
‘I saw a lot of white shirts in front of me. At that moment, I was very excited to get the ball.’
