    The 22-year-old Denmark forward has struggled at Old Trafford since joining from Atalanta in the summer of 2023 for £70million and scored just four Premier League goals last season.

    Hojlund has been linked with a move away, with Inter Milan one of the possible options.

    However, Hoylund has previously stated his stance on the transfer and revealed that he wants to stay with the Red Devils next season. However, that has not stopped the speculation.

    According to The Athletic, if Hojlund does leave, United will consider other centre-forward options to replace him.

    Villa star Watkins, 29, is reportedly on the list and United executives have been in touch through intermediaries over a potential move.

    Watkins, who has scored five goals in 18 England appearances and is contracted to 2028, has scored 75 goals in 184 Premier League games for Unai Emery’s side and will impress again in the 2024-25 campaign, with 16 goals and eight assists.

    Should Watkins’ move go through, a slight change in strategy would see the Villa forward look to bring in younger players under Sir Jim Ratcliffe, with the Villa forward turning 30 later this year, but Reuben Amorim is keen to bring in players who are ready to step up to the plate to bolster his squad.
