    The England midfielder was absent from Saturday’s Community Shield win over Manchester United on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time, with Pep Guardiola saying he was not involved as a precaution and said he was not certain for the season opener.

    “He’s been unwell for two days but especially on Friday, he didn’t feel very good. I don’t think it’s a big problem but we don’t want to take any risks, it could be serious,” Pep said.

    “He might be available for the game against Chelsea or I’m sure for the game against Ipswich Town. If he’s injured now, he might be out for three weeks or a month.” ( superwin636 )
