“Coach Tuk” Mr. Thanawit Thosakul, Director of the Aquatics Association of Thailand, revealed that the main mission of the association in the last 5 months, from the policy received from Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, President of the Aquatics Association, is to prepare the athletes for the 33rd SEA Games as best as possible to achieve the estimated gold medal target. Discussions have been held with the coaches of each sport. For swimming, hopeful athletes will be sent to train abroad according to the plan proposed by the athletes, such as “Mermaid Joy” Jenjira Srisard will train in the Netherlands, “Mermaid Noey” Kamanchanok Kwanmuang and “Shark Pae” Ratthavit Thammanantachot, who have a chance in both swimming and open water, will train in France.

Tonnam Kantimul will train in Kunming, China. Similarly, diving will be sent to China to learn techniques. Women’s water polo will train in Hungary. Men’s water polo may train in China or invite a training partner from China to train in Thailand. It depends on which is more beneficial. As for style swimming, it will be sent to compete in the 2025 Asian Championships in India to test the athletes’ potential.

Coach Tuek also said that in addition to preparing the athletes, the association is also preparing to host the 33rd SEA Games by organizing a test competition in some categories, such as the Open Water Swimming Masters ASEAN Championship 2025 at Jomtien Beach, Chonburi Province, which is the actual competition venue in the SEA Games, and preparing the competition venue, referees, and officials in various aspects to be as ready as possible before the SEA Games.
