New Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Liam Cohen plans to improve the footwork of 25-year-old quarterback Trevor Lawrence ahead of the 2025 season, NFL Network reports. hotfuns

“We’re working on his footwork,” Cohen said of Lawrence. “Everything about the quarterback position is built on the bottom and the mind, and that’s something we really have control over because timing is timing for us. That’s what we look at. Timing is timing, and we’re not going to touch that. So we’ve really drilled down on his footwork and some of his mechanics.”

Lower body improvements aren’t a new process, although arm adjustments are more likely. Earlier in the careers of Dak Prescott and Josh Allen, footwork and hip adjustments to arm rotation can help any quarterback, and Coen will be looking to tweak Lawrence’s play before the start of the season.

‘Obviously, once we start to build on certain aspects of football, whether it’s formation, movement, changes of direction,’ Coen said. ‘But for us to really help him, even from a big-picture perspective, we need to be able to run the ball a little bit better, help him in that area, take the pressure off a little bit.’
