Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nekoby Dean has revealed that ballet has helped him rehab, similar to what other players before him, including wide receiver Lynn Swann and running backs Walter Peyton and Gal Herschel Walker, NBC Sports Philadelphia reports. hotfuns
Dean missed Super Bowl 50 after tearing his ACL in the wild-card playoff game. He switched from soccer cleats to ballet flats from Philadelphia’s BalletX to help with his recovery.
“It’s definitely more flexible, more mobile,” Dean told NBC Philadelphia’s Brendan Brightman and Matt DeLucia. “It’s definitely something that’s helped me with my rehab.”
‘You will feel the change immediately. After you stretch, you will no longer feel tightness or pain.’
Increasing his agility while stimulating his muscles in a different way than he normally would to help reduce the risk of future injury, even if the activity doesn’t inspire him to return anytime soon.
‘I’m more interested in the performances, but I’m a real footballer,’ Dean said. ‘I try to be the best version of myself. For me, that’s great if I strive to be that every day and do everything I can to be that way.’ ( hotfuns )
