Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Travis Kelce is heading into his 13th professional year, and the 35-year-old insists it was an easy decision for him given he still has a lot to prove in the league, NFL Network reports. hotfuns
“I love football. I don’t think I’ve thought about it too much,” Kelsey said. “I love coming to work every day. It’s not a difficult decision for me. I know I’m getting older, but at the same time I still feel like I have a lot to prove in this league. With that being said, it wasn’t a difficult decision for me.”
Kelsey also expressed his determination to win another Super Bowl in the 2025 season, saying, “That’s the only way I’m going to judge whether this season was a success or not. It’s just how I feel right now.”
The 35-year-old winger is using last year’s disappointment as motivation to prepare for the 2025 season, with Kelsey revealing he has lost some weight, though it’s less than 25 pounds, according to some reports.
“This year I really had time to focus on running and some things early in the off-season that I didn’t have time to do last year,” Kelsey said. “It feels really good and I think it’s going to pay off.”
“We’ve never had a conversation about (retiring),” Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said. “I think you have that in your mind. For anybody who’s played multiple seasons, there’s always a chance they’re going to come back and give it their all. You’ve got to give it your all. You’ve got to give it your all in the offseason.”
‘I think everybody wants to play games, but they have to be fully committed to the off-season when everything is so stressful. For him, I think it’s just a recalibration to see where he’s at. From what we’ve seen, I think you guys can see, he’s ready to go. He’s worked hard this off-season and he’s excited to get another chance to play.’ ( hotfuns )
