hotfuns Pat Shurmur has officially announced his appointment as head coach of the New York Giants, and he is ready to start over with key players Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr.
Shurmur becomes the 18th head coach in team history and replaces Ben McAdoo, who was fired last month after a 3-16 season. hotfuns
The former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator said he had the chance to see Manning last summer when he was in the family’s training center for throwing practice, and he was certainly impressed.
“I walked out and said to myself, ‘He still looks sharp,'” the 52-year-old said. “He’s still fit, he’s got a great shot, he’s got a great trajectory, he’s got a lot of years left in him.”
“Asking how long? I can’t answer that, but I know Eli can still compete for a long time. Of course, I look forward to working with him.”
Manning’s current contract has two more seasons remaining, with 2017 being one of his worst, with 19 touchdowns and 13 interceptions thrown. ( hotfuns )
