lisbon365 Chris Sutton has criticised Thomas Tuchel’s England squad selections, with some players he believes should not be included, with performances not being judged.

The Three Lions have just announced their first squad under Tuchel, with the likes of Jordan Henderson and Marcus Rashford returning to the England squad after being left out of Euro 2024, while Newcastle United defender Dan Burn is making his first international appearance at the age of 33. lisbon365

Sutton also questioned the club’s in-form players Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White, who have helped Nottingham Forest fly high at the moment, as well as Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been in good form for Everton recently, and Conor Gallagher, who has been ignored.

“He made the decision to go to Saudi Arabia and I think that’s the end of him for England, ” Sutton said of Henderson’s recall to the England squad.

“And the thing that has to be said is, Conor Gallagher, what is he thinking?

“Tuchel doesn’t call players based on their performances. Another one we have to talk about is Jarrad Branthwaite. How did he not make it? I really don’t understand.

“I don’t know if Tuchel has watched him this season, but he deserves to be in this team and we’re at a point where we can debate whether Dan Burn should be in the team or not.

“A lot of the Forest players too, Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, they must be feeling the pain.” ( lisbon365 )
