    Huddleston, who joined United in August 2022 as coach of the under-21 team, has held Mainu in high esteem since the first day he took the job and saw the youngster.

    “On my first day at Carrington I came to watch the lads train,” Huddleston told the Sport Bible. “I talked to a friend on the way home and said, ‘There were two kids who stood out during training and one of them, Cobbi Mainu, looked like a young version of Yaya Toure.’

    “To do what he is doing as an 18-year-old at a club of this level is great, it’s like he’s been playing for many years. He has the same calmness as anyone I’ve ever seen and that comes from a confident touch on the ball. His play with the ball and his ability to pass the ball.”
