Leonard has been suffering from pain in his right knee and swelling for months. Despite his efforts to recover, it may be too early to join the NBA camp. He should recover and wait for the new NBA season. 

White, 30, a fresh 2024 NBA champion, is the third Celtics player on the gold medal-winning team in Paris, joining Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday. 

Last season’s playoff performance alone, which brought home the 18th Larry O’Brien award to the franchise, averaged 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 blocks, shooting 40.4% from the field in 19 games. 

The US basketball team is chasing five consecutive Olympic gold medals. Since Barcelona in 1992, they have only missed out on gold once, in Athens in 2004, when they won only a bronze medal.
