“It looks like 2018 is over for you guys,” Beane said. “They were complaining about Josh Allen in 2018, you wanted Josh Rosen, but now you’re complaining about us not having wide receivers. I don’t get it. We just had eight straight 30-point games last year. I hear you guys asking why we don’t have wide receivers, but now I don’t get it.”

‘You just saw us lead the league in scoring. When you add up all the postseasons, nobody has scored more than the Buffalo Bills, including the Super Bowl champions. So you just saw what we did without Stephon Dix. How can this group not be better than last year’s group?’

‘Our job is to score and win games. Where do we need to improve? Defense. We’ve got that. I get it. You have to have a show, and you have to have something to talk about. But talking about wide receivers is one of the stupidest arguments I’ve ever heard.

“I understand. I just think, let’s be realistic. Our job isn’t to get the best wide receiver out there. It’s not just fantasy football. We have Josh Allen. The first thing you’ve got to do is protect him. You can’t have everything. You can’t have a Pro Bowl wide receiver and a Pro Bowl offensive line and three great running backs. You’ve got to choose. Obviously, I’d love to play fantasy football. There’s only one football. You can’t have too many people.”
