Even more so when General Manager Kevin Colbert interviewed the young man from the University of Oklahoma as one of the top players in the quarterback position to take over from Roethlisberger, who is 36 years old.

But the big commander has announced that he will not retire easily, at least until the end of the 2023 season. “Of course, it’s not a problem. It can happen,” Ben told local media, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

“But my plan is to continue playing for another 5 years, depending on how much my body can handle. If the new kid has potential, it’s a perfect choice. But I’ll have to wait a bit longer.” 

If that’s the case, Roethlisberger hopes to retire at 41, making him the latest quarterback to reach his 40s, as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady recently said in an interview that he wants to play until 45. ( kindee1688 )
