kindee1688 Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortels has decided to undergo surgery on his right wrist during the offseason in hopes of returning to full action for the new season.

A source tells the NFL that Bortel has been struggling with injuries since early December 2016, forcing him to throw the ball for the past 12 months, eventually going under the knife.  kindee1688

The injury is to the wrist tendons. It is expected to take 2-3 months to recover. 

The 25-year-old forward had the best season of his career despite a wrist injury, completing 60.2 percent of his passes, throwing for 21 touchdowns and forcing just 14 interceptions, helping the team reach the AFC Conference Finals, where they lost to New England 20-24. 

Bortels is set to report back to the team in March before entering a recovery program ahead of mid-2018 training camp. 

In addition, Jaguars backup quarterback Chad Henne’s contract is set to expire after March, so the team will look to bring in a new running back to help with practice. ( kindee1688 )
